Michael on the Move

Michael on the Move began in 2007 when Michael Thomas Sunnarborg, an international global consultant, made a series of Skype video calls from his home in Bangalore, India, to geography students in Stillwater, Minnesota. Michael was living and working in India on a 12-month corporate expatriate assignment. His quest to keep exploring and experiencing the world led him to taking monthly trips to other countries. In total Michael visited 16 countries in 12 months including such destinations as London, Dubai, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The Skype calls were meant to supplement his travel blog, Michael's India, which documented his travels with stories and pictures about the places he visited, the people he met, and the lessons he learned along the way.

Since 2008, the Michael on the Move project grew into several annual presentations and its own web site featuring Michael's photos and stories as he continued to travel the world and bring more global cultural awareness and understanding to people of all ages. Michael's ultimate goal for Michael on the Move was to help replace a "fear" of the world with a "curiosity" of it by using his travel as an opportunity to experience the world through a lens of appreciation and gratitude.
